Sehr ungewöhnlich sind die 30 Aufgaben, die man in der Rate-App Lateral Thinking gestellt bekommt. Nur mit unorthodoxen Lösungsansätzen kommt man hier zum Ziel. Und man hat auch nur eine Chance, wenn man die englische Sprache recht gut versteht. Die witzig gemachte Universal-App für iPhone, iPod Touch und iPad kostet normal 79 Cent – jetzt ist sie gerade kostenlos.
Ich behaupte, dass man viele der Aufgaben nicht lösen kann, auch wenn man die Clues, also Hinweise liest. So schräg kann man manchmal garnicht denken. Wenn man dann die Lösung aufruft, ist es klar und man erkennt, dass man nur in die falsche Richtung überlegt hat. Aber das macht gerade den Reiz dieser App aus, die sicher nicht jedem gefallen wird.
Ein Beispiel:
Nach dem millionsten Streit entschließt ein Mann sich, seine Frau umzubringen und erschießt sie. In Panik geraten, nimmt er den Aufzug vom 7. Stock zum Erdgeschoss. Plötzlich merkt er, dass er die Tatwaffe oben vergessen hat. Also nimmt er den Aufzug zurück in den dritten Stock und läuft dann die Treppen herauf. Warum?

Den Zeitpunkt dieser Veröffentlichung hat Rovio vielleicht nicht ganz optimal gewählt, denn Angry Brids Free ist im ganzen Trubel rund um den Mac App Store völlig untergegangen. Das Game beinhaltet 12 exklusive Level in 4 Miniepisoden, die selbst in der Vollversion nicht zu finden sind.
Dazu gibt es Game Center Support für Highscorelisten und erspielbare Erfolge. Lediglich ein kleiner Werbebanner lässt sich ab und zu in der rechten oberen Ecke blicken. Ansonsten gibt es aber keinerlei Einschränkungen, daher unser Fazit: Unbedingt laden!

Hm, what product could make Apple cover the windows of a retail shop so soon after the holiday shopping season? Surely not the iPad 2. Maybe something that looks the same but works on a totally new network? You know, that Verizon iPhone that we've been hearing about for a few years now, perchance? Well, as it turns out, probably not.
The above pic and another one posted on Uneasy Silence by way of TwitPic (dated January 9, 2011) show retail employees deploying the big black shroud to cover the store windows. The poster is from the UK, but no specific location of this store is given. Calls to several US stores said they are not covering up, and honestly, covering up (and closing a retail shop) for an entire day before a major announcement would be nuts. This cover-up is most likely for an already-existing product that is getting a new window display, which would be installed overnight. It happens frequently at Apple Stores, particularly after the holidays.
Despite the unrelated cover-up, we're hearing that retail employees will have a meeting next weekend for the "red zone" -- a code name given to the sales area of the floor. We're also hearing of a possible new setup area, meaning you may see a part of stores set up strictly to accommodate new iPhone purchasers and get their phones activated. This would be great for Verizon customers suddenly flocking to Apple's warm embrace, yes? At any rate, it's more about the service than the product, both in the retail experience and on your network when you leave the store.
Update: As 9to5Mac points out and we hear independently, starting January 11, there will be no more restocking fees. Perhaps this "test drive anything" policy is getting some big display announcement? That would seem apropos.
Update 2: We're hearing the reason the windows are being blocked off? Retail employees are being trained on new "setup areas" that aren't for the Verizon iPhone, but for new customers who may be unfamiliar with Macs or iOS devices and would like to get things started with the help of a friendly Apple retail employee. Doing that now involves clogging up the Genius area in many cases.

Primarily because the device will allow you to clear the stupid "check engine" light in most cars made after 1996 with an ODB-II port. You see, the CarTrip features a dongle that plugs into the ODB-II port in your car, and it communicates via Bluetooth with an iOS device (in your hand or dashboard).
The CarTrip can then show you certain codes from your car's "brain" and alert you to problems or clear the check engine light. Plus, a little plant sprout on the app will show you how efficiently your car is driving, and the device will track efficiency even if you don't have your iOS device in the car. Check out the video on the next page; we had a chat with Eric Weisinger from Griffin about the CarTrip. It should be available in the second quarter of 2011 for US$89.99.

Now, I’ve finally gotten around to trying to install the same applications onto my MacBook Air just to see if I could, but I already know that I can. The licensing model of the Mac App Store allows it.
Unfortunately tonight the Mac App Store isn’t working and according to AppleCare there are two suggested ways to work around this that you need to try when the Mac App Store gives you an ambiguous error message: @@errorNum@@.
If you experience this error number then you have two options according to AppleCare:
First, try logging out of the Mac App Store by going to the Store menu inside the Mac App Store application and selecting Sign Out. Next go back to the Store menu and select Sign In. Afterwards I tried to install an application from my list of purchases, but I still wasn’t able too.
Yes, I said wait. Try again later. If the above isn’t working then the Mac App Store is having database problems according to AppleCare. The only thing you can do is wait it out. Unfortunately there is no way to check the stores status, etc. I hope Apple will resolve that at some point and offer something to provide that information.
I left this post idle in draft mode for about an hour and tried the Mac App Store again. This time instead of the error I got above I was asked to verify my credit card information because I hadn’t used it on my MacBook Air before. I entered the required information and I was quickly downloading and installing my apps once again.
My colleague Chris wrote a post about the popular video playback client VLC being pulled from the App Store following objections from a developer who worked on the project that it was in breach of the GNU Public License. [The app has now been released on Cydia for jailbroken devices.]
This unpopular move had provoked strong reactions throughout the Mac blogging world, and Chris made a strong case for the prosecution in his post. However, every story always has two sides (and somewhere between them lies the truth). Monsoon has announced two new boxes, Volkano Flow and Volkano Blast along with apps to let you transport (“sling”) your home TV to your iPhone or iPad.
Flow is $99 and is barebones slinging. Blast is $199 and added DVR, schedule recordings, web video like YouTube, and mobile video recording (you pick your mobile device and it will record a TV show specifically for that format). The iPad and iPhone apps are $9.99 and the Windows and Mac apps are free.

Ich arbeite gerne mit vielen Bildschirmen. Gerade als aktiver Social Media Manager mit mehreren Kunden ist es wichtig immer ein Auge auf die Aktivitäten der betreuten Marken zu haben. Somit ist ein Monitor schon mal belegt mit einem oder zwei Social Media Monitoring Dashboards. Der zweite Bildschirm ist dann für die tatsächliche Arbeit. Bei mir daheim ist das MacBook Pro an ein 24″ LED Cinema Display angehängt. Auf dem Cinema Display wird gearbeitet und auf dem 15″ MacBook Pro laufen die Internet-Aktivitäten. Manchmal ist dieser Bildschirm aber einfach zu klein… Daher hab ich mir mal überlegt, kann man eigentlich zwei Cinema Displays an ein MacBook Pro hängen? Die kurze Antwort wäre: Ja, mit einem Adapter dazwischen.
Beim oberen Bild wurde der Adapter Matrox DualHead2Go eingesetzt. Die Installation gestaltete sich, nach Aussagen von Blog TNPham.ch, relativ einfach. In meinen Augen hat die Lösung aber einen klaren Nachteil. Ein Desktop ist verteilt über zwei Bildschirme. Das heisst, die Menüleiste oben zeiht sich über beide Bildschirme. Auf dem linken Bildschirm ganz Links kann man ins Apple-Menü wählen und auf dem rechten Bildschirm ganz rechts kann man die Suche eingeben. Bei zwei 24″, oder 27″ LED Cinema Displays ist das ein laaaaanger Maus-Weg! Zudem unterstützt der Adapter nur 2x 1920 x 1200 Pixels in der Auflösung. Eigentlich schade wenn das 27″ LED Cinema Display eine Auflösung von 2560 x 1440 Pixels unterstützt. Das wäre ja die reinste Verschwendung.
Bei diesem Bild ist es wie es sein sollte. Drei Screens (inklusive MacBook Pro) und die Menüleiste auf nur einem Bildschirm. Gelöst wurde das ganze aber nicht mit Apple Display, sondern mit zwei Benq E2200Hd Bildschirmen auf speziellen Ständer. Als Adapter wurden zwei ViBook eingesetzt. Mit ViBook kriegt man eine Unterstützung bis 1920 x 1200 Pixel hin. Leider ist die Leistung noch immer unter der Möglichkeit eines 27″ LED Cinema Display von Apple. Aber auch andere Adapter wie EVGA oder Diamond oder DisplayLink kommen nicht an die 2560 x 1440 Pixel heran.
Einzig der Dual Link Vi von Gefen scheint die Leistung zu erbringen. Aber ich glaube, bevor ich hier eine Fehlinvestition tätige, Frage ich lieber mal bei Apple selber an der Genius Bar nach. Die werden doch sicher schon mal so einen Fall gehabt haben. Vielleicht hat ja auch schon jemand von Euch eine ähnliche Erfahrung gemacht wie man zwei Cinema Displays ohne Qualitätsverlust an ein MacBook Pro anschliessen kann?

Alli: Skype recently updated its iOS app to include the ability to video chat over 3G. While video over 3G is mediocre, video over WiFi is great. I’ve found that lately I’m using Skype on my iPhone more often than Skype on my desktop.
Skype was even able to come to my rescue recently, when I had no voice or data with AT&T at the Cincinnati airport. Once the plane was at cruising altitude and the captain turned on WiFi, I was able to use Skype to send an sms to my parents to let them know where I was.
Brian: Skype may not be the newest application around but it is for sure my Pick of the Week. With it’s latest update they have finally enabled video calling from your iOS device and it is a much welcomed feature. Most of my friends and family from back home don’t have an iPhone 4 so video chatting for them to talk to my daughter or to see your truly wasn’t possible with my phone. That being the case I hardly ever used my front facing camera. Well now that Skype allows video calls I have found myself using my front camera at least once per day to talk to the folks or other friends and family members. So if you haven’t updated yet or don’t have the Skype app yet it is well worth the download!

I love browsing forums, especially interacting with members of the TiPb forums. Sometimes work and other things keep me away from a computer and browsing forums on a mobile device has not always been the best experience.
Tapatalk sets out to solve that. As long as the forum supports the plug-in, you’ll be good to go. I’ve noticed more and more forums adding Tapatalk support every day. It’s extremely fast (even over AT&T Edge for you poor saps like me that live in an area where 3G is severely lacking).
It even supports moderator accounts. I love the fact that if I need to quickly moderate, I can do so from my device just as easily as I can from a computer now. If you’re a heavy forum user, it’s definitely worth checking out!

The Sun is a national tabloid Newspaper in the United Kingdom and there is now an official iPad app. The app comes with a 30 day free trial with no need to sign up, so it is well worth taking a free look.
The newspaper does not have the best reputation, but does do a good job covering sporting events. One of the great features however, for many of The Sun readers, is the page 3 girl. Basically a topless model adorns page 3 every day of the week (except Sundays). The app for iPad goes a little further and offers the page 3 girl in a 360 degree view. You can swipe to rotate the picture right round.
The app is free to download and once you fire it up, it downloads the day’s paper when you click on it, shame it is not automatic! Well worth a look, to keep abreast of the latest news and sport.

Paperless is an outstanding, unique list making app.
You have the choice whether you want to make a ‘checklist’ or a simple ‘list’. Checklists are great for to-do lists and shopping lists, and the ‘lists’ are great for leaving yourself notes, like quotes or ideas.
What makes Paperless great, is that it includes over 300 custom made icons and 5 themes, that make your lists eye-catching, unlike traditional checklist apps, which just show text, which can be boring.
Selected lists can be shown as a ‘bubble’ on your home screen, so you have a realistic look on all the selected, important, things you have to do, instead of everything at once.
While not supporting ‘cloud’ storage. You can send yourself an email backup of your lists, so if you lose your phone or delete the app, you can always re download the lists.

While at Macworld 2010, Rene and I checked out iTouch Gloves – leather gloves that work with the capacitive screen of the iPhone and iPad. I finally got a pair for Christmas this year and love them!
The iTouch Gloves look like normal leather gloves but work wonderfully with my iPhone and iPad. They are much warmer than I was expecting. I had also expected typing on the iPhone’s small keyboard to be difficult, but not so! I do have to type a little slower to prevent mistakes, but I’m still remarkably accurate considering I’m wearing gloves.
If you live in cold weather, these gloves are a must-have!
Whenever I attend a trade show, like CES 2011 this week, my iPhone 4 battery gets hit like a freight train. First I use my iPhone so much because I’m constantly on the go, recording media, keeping up on Twitter, and — oh ya! — checking up on TiPb.com from the road and the show floor. Second, these shows are flooded with iPhones making AT&T’s sometimes tenuous service into a full on disaster– my iPhone radio has to fire so hard, so often, I can literally watch the battery drain from the time I unplug until the time I finish breakfast.
So, as usual, I brought 2 mophie juice packs with me, this time for iPhone 4 and both the juice pack air and the juice pack plus. The air got me back to 75% or so, the plus to full charge. I typically went through both every day and that’s literally the difference between me getting the job done for TiPb or being left high and dry with a dead phone.
Air is $79, plus is $99. Both are well worth it for road warriors or anyone else who just can’t — or won’t — put their iPhone down.

Eventuell für den einen oder anderen interessant, ist das per Kommandozeilenbefehl aktivierbare Debug-Menü für den AppStore-Client.
Dazu ein ein Terminal öffnen und folgende Zeile eintippen:

Man kann neben vielen Sachen zB. auch einstellen, wo und wie der Installationsprozess einer neuen App auszusehen hat.

Now that we all just pretty take it for granted that the Verizon iPhone will be announced tomorrow and ship around the end of the month we can start sweating the details like — will Verizon’s network be able to handle the AT&T-crushing load and will they still offer unlimited data plans. According to “a person familiar with the matter” (probably not Steve Jobs, right?), the Wall Street Journal says the answer to both questions is “yes”:
Verizon Wireless, the country’s largest wireless carrier, is confident enough in its network that it will offer unlimited data-use plans when it starts selling the iPhone around the end of this month [...] Such plans would provide a key means of distinguishing its service from rival AT&T Inc., which limits how much Internet data such as videos and photos its customers may use each month.
AT&T switched to 256MB and 2GB plans back in June 2010 and while Verizon is rumored to be doing likewise, staying with unlimited just long enough to launch the iPhone is probably the smart play. As to capacity:
“Whether they are iPhones or Droids, they are smartphones,” Verizon Chief Executive Ivan G. Seidenberg said in a mid-November interview. “Regardless of the mix, we are prepared to carry more data.”
Droids/Androids are already hitting Verizon’s CDMA network in large numbers and iPhone will hit it again like a freight train, so it will be interesting to see if Verizon can really back up their claims.
Of course, Verizon’s current EVDO Rev-A network can’t handle voice and data at the same time, so unlike AT&T, Verizon iPhone users won’t be able to talk and surf the web at the same time. Will that lighten the load, or simply put the pressure on Verizon to roll out an updated EVDO Rev-A network (since they’re skipping the voice/data friendly Rev-B and going straight to LTE, which it doesn’t look like Apple will be supporting for a while still…)

Vor ein paar Wochen hatte ich ein kleines Interview mit Matthias Heubach, dem Geschäftsführer von App-machine.com in dem er sein Produkt, für 99 Euro eine Buch-App vorstellte. Toll Idee, nur muss ich erst 99 Euro investieren. Alternativen?
Die Tage, ich hatte die neuste c´t auf dem Sofa zur Hand, fand ich eine kleine Notiz zu einer Software mit dem Namen Tango (als Ex-Tänzer wird man sofort Aufmerksam) und las weiter: Mit einer Mac- / Windows-Software kann man ePub-Bücher und fertige Apps erstellen. Die „Solo“-Version soll nur 99 Euro kosten.
Auf der Website vom Hersteller fand ich den Link zur Demo-Version. Schnell eine Email an den Entwickler verfasst, mich vorgestellt usw. und um Erlaubnis zur Verwendung von selbstgemachten Screenshots für eine Review der Software gebeten. Sicher ist sicher. Ich habe an dieser Stelle als Blogger schon sehr unterschiedliche Antworten erhalten: Ingnoriert, an den Presseverteiler verwiesen usw. usf. Die Markstein Software GmbH schickte mir rasch eine Email und bot mir an die allerneuste Version als USB-Stick zuzusenden (die mit den im Artikel erwähnten neuen Funktionen) und ich sagte zu.
Drei Tage später, letzten Donnerstag, traf das kleine Päckchen ein. Danke!
Hier mein kleiner Erfahrungsbericht als ungeschulter Anwender der Software. Es gibt auch offizielle Workshops, wie “Digitale Magazine und Werbemittel auf dem iPad”, diese sprengen aber verständlicherweise den Rahmen meines Freizeit-Budgets für den privaten Blog. Sehts mir nach…
1. Dokument Anlegen
Die Installation ging direkt vom USB-Stick aus leicht von der Hand – sogar ohne dem Demo-Key. Ich musste nur den Laufwerkspad in der Verknüpfung anpassen und los gings. Zunächst bietet die Software an ein Dokument anzulegen.
Ich hatte ein kleines Déjà-vu von vor über 15 Jahren, als ich noch mit
einem s/w-Mac Layouts erstellt habe. Kinder, wie die Zeit vergeht!
2. Textrahmen positionieren
Danach habe ich ein Textrahmen aufgezogen…
3. Text einfließen lassen
Dann nahm ich einfach eines meiner letzten Interviews, mit Markus Heitz, und kopierte es in den Textrahmen hinein.
Beachte: Umbruchmarke in der unteren, rechten Ecke -> Roter Marker
Kurzer Klick mit der rechten Maustaste – “Automatischer Textfluß” – Ausführen – Schon hatte ich ein Dokument mit drei Seiten. Perfekt. Da ich sowieso nicht vorhatte ein anderes Format als ePub auszuprobieren im ersten Schritt, investierte ich keine Zeit an dieser Stelle in das Layout.
Rechts in der unten Bildecke sieht man die Seitenübersicht im gesonderten Fenster.
Kleiner Hinweis:
Ohne Lizenzschlüssel geht natürlich kein “Speichern” des Dokuments. Also kurz den Demo-Key via “?”-Menü (letzter Menüpunkt in der Leiste) einspielen. Und das Einspielen des Keys geht nur ohne Dokument…
4. Speichern und Exportieren als ePub
Das Dokument habe ich dann zur Sicherheit -im zweiten Anlauf- gespeichert und danach mir das Export-Menü (unter “Datei”) angeschaut.
Im folgenden Menü kurz den Marker für “Verkettungstexte” gesetzt und gespeichert. Dann noch das ePub-Formular ausfüllen:
Für die Menü-Reiter “Textnutzung” und “Struktur” fehlt mir noch
das KnowHow. Ich muss mich da einlesen.

5. Speichern – Fertig – Lesen?
Da ich vor einiger Zeit meinen Test zum Thema Adobe DRM-Bücher auf dem iPad verfasst hatte, ist die entsprechende Adobe DRM-Software auf meinem PC. Diese startete sofort nach dem OK-Button von Tango. Mein erstes ePub-eBook…

Die Tage versuche ich dann mit der Software eine eBook-App zu erstellen. Aber wenn ich das richtig sehe, braucht man dazu mehr als die “Solo”-Version -> “Solo-Professional”. Mein weiterer Rundflug durch sie Software zeigt auf jeden Fall ein solides DTP-Tool, was jeder, der seine Diplomarbeit z.B. nicht mit Word (oder LaTeX) erstellen möchte testen sollte.

“Die mit Tango erzeugten E-Books können direkt in den Apple BookStore iBooks eingestellt werden. Eine App ist dazu nicht nötig. Unsere Lösung für iPad-Apps ist für Digitale Magazine, also Zeitschriften, gedacht. Für Bücher eignet sie sich auch, wenn der Umfang nicht so groß ist. Allerdings ist hier der Aufwand erheblich höher und erfordert einige Konzeptarbeit.”
Über Magazine werde ich sicher auch in der nächsten Zeit einen Beitrag, oder 2, verfassen…
High tech meets drinking – das dürfte ein echter Männertraum sein. Und nun gibt’s für iPhone-User das passende Spielzeug dazu:
In den USA wird nun eine Schutzhülle fürs iPhone angeboten, die gleichzeitig auch als Bieröffner funktioniert.
Der i-Bottle-Opener kostet 19,95 Dollar. Aktuell gibt’s ihn für das iPhone 3G und 3GS.
Der Öffner fürs iPhone ist für den 14. Januar angekündigt.
Ich werde es nie verstehen, warum die EU beschlossen hat, das es besser wäre auf die guten alten Glühbirnen zu verzichten und dafür auf Energiesparlampen zu wechseln. Schon alleine das Entsorgen von Energiesparlampen ist nicht so einfach. Was mich aber am meisten bei solchen Lampen erschreckt, ist das Licht das sie machen. Die meisten tauchen die Wohnung in ein herrliches Blau, das garantiert nicht natürlich wirkt, und eher an einen OP Saal erinnert.
Zurück aber zu den Test-LED’s.
Beide wurden gleich in Betrieb genommen, und zu meinem Erstaunen, machen sie keine blaue Wohnung. Sie strahlen ein freundliches Weiss, verbrauchen knapp 3 WATT und bieten über 100 Lumen Lichtstärke. Mir sind diese ganzen Zahlen eigentlich so was von egal, wenn das Licht stimmt. Es soll einfach warm und natürlich sein.
Wir haben zwar noch einen kleinen Vorrat an guten alten Glühbirnen, wenn der sich aber zu Ende nähert, werden wir auf die Suche nach gutem Ersatz gehen müssen. Und die LedMeile kommt auf jeden Fall in Betracht. Das erzeugte Licht ist meines Erachtens fast wie meine Vorstellung von dem perfekten Licht.
Soeben veröffentlichte das Dev-Team die sechste Beta Version des redsn0w Jailbreak-Tool der Version 0.9.7 für den untethered Jailbreak von iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4G und iPad unter iOS 4.2.1.

Das Dev-Team weist nochmals ausdrücklich darauf hin, das die für die Nutzung der redsn0w 0.9.7er Beta-Versionen erforderliche iOS 4.2b3 ipsw-Datei, nur für registrierte Entwickler zum offiziellen Download bereit steht bzw. stand, und nicht illegal aus dem Web geladen werden soll.

Dabei lassen sich die Angebote hier natürlich sinnvoll nach Projekten anordnen – von der Badewanne über Fenster und Türen bis hin zum Bodenbelag.
BWL24 läuft problemlos auf dem iPhone und iPad touch (ab iOS 3.2), die volle Ästhetik und Übersichtlichkeit entfaltet sich allerdings erst auf dem iPad. Die Universal App ist kostenlos im App Store erhältlich (Kategorie Lifestyle) und wird regelmäßig weiterentwickelt.

Ein neuer Tag eine neue Version von redsn0w. Mit der heute veröffentlichten Version 0.9.7b6 des Jailbreak-Tools sollten nun langsam alle Fehler beim untethered Jailbreak der iOS 4.2.1 behoben worden sein. Nachdem gestern mit der Beta 5 endlich Bluetooth funktioniert, verspricht die heutige Beta nun endlich ein funktionierendes Skype.
Wie auch die letzten Betas setzt die neue Version die iOS 4.2b3 SHSH voraus und kann nur mit diesen angewendet werden. Außerdem muss man die Firmware iOS 4.2b3 auf dem Mac gespeichert haben. Die Windows-Version lässt weiterhin auf sich warten. Der nächste Schritt wird die Anpassung auf 4.1 sein, so dass auch Anwender ohne SHSH für die iOS 4.2b3 in den Genuss eines untethered Jailbreak der iOS 4.2.1 kommen. Außerdem arbeitet man an einer Geschwindigkeitsoptimierung der Windows-Version. Diese benötigt im Moment noch über 10 Minuten für den Jailbreak.
Wer sich den Jailbreak installieren will, der findet die aktuelle Version von redns0w auf der Homepage des Dev-Team. Im Gegensatz zu früheren Betas kann man die Beta 6 problemlos auf ein, mit der Beta 5 jailbroken Gerät aufspielen. Bei anderen Versionen muss man sein Gerät vor dem Jailbreak erst zurücksetzen.
Schreck in der Abendstunde, als ich mein geladenes iPad nach einer 30-minütigen Pause wieder nutzen wollte, blieb der Bildschirm schwarz. Nichts ging mehr. Weder der Home-Button noch der An-/Aus-Schalter bewirkten eine Reaktion. Bug oder Feature fragt sich der Laie?
Als genau das gleiche neulich einem Bekannten passierte, spottete ich noch: Na, wenigsten funktioniert ein Wecker bei Apple – der Auto-Destruct-Timer. Dumm nur, dass er vor Ablauf der Garantie aktiv wird. Ich sah mich schon im Geiste zum Apple Store in Hamburgs Norden reisen.
Doch das Internet hatte Trost für mich: Ich bin nicht allein! Beim iPad Team fand ich etliche Einträge zu dem Thema. Von “Schock“, “Aufregung” und iPads, die sich kurz vor einem wichtigen Einsatz bei einer Rede verabschieden. “Ich habe die Nacht in eine Tüte geatmet“, schreibt Anton 2, sein bitteres aber treffendes Fazit: “Man lässt die Windowswelt hinter sich, um danach…auch mit Apple-Zeug einen Totalabsturz zu erleben. Bitter, bitter…”
Nun aber die Lösung: Ein Reboot. Dazu drückt man gleichzeitig den Home-Button und den An-/Aus-Schalter so lange, bis das Apfel-Logo erscheint. Das ist die Reanimation für das iPad.
Einige Betroffene berichten davon, dass sie dieses Problem nur einmal hatten, ich musste den Schockgriff gleich zwei Mal an einem Tag anwenden. Ich werde die Frage mal an Apple Deutschland weiterreichen, ob das Problem bekannt ist.

Es gibt auch Gerüchte, dass Apple für diesen Zeitraum eine Urlaubssperre für die Mitarbeiter seiner Verkaufsfilialen verhängt hätte. Das könnte bedeuten, dass ein neues Produkt in die Läden kommt, für die Apple einen massiven Ansturm erwartet. Aber ob das mit der Urlaubssperre zutrifft und das iPad 2 wirklich in knapp vier Wochen in den Läden steht, bleibt ein unbestätigtes Gerücht. Denn es gab in den letzten Wochen auch mehrfach die Gerüchte, die Prodktion des iPad 2 laufe zwar an, aber es sollen erst Lagebestände aufgebaut werden, um das iPad 2 dann eher Ende März oder Anfang April in den Handel zu bringen. Also abwarten und Tee trinken!
Auch AT&T war natürlich bei der CES vertreten, und CEO Ralph de la Vega sprach in seiner Keynote über den Ausbau des AT&T 4G-Netzes. Als er auf einer der Folien die Hersteller anzeigte, die bis 2012 4G-Mobilgeräte auf den Markt bringen wollen, fand Boy Genius Report auch den Namen von Apple, und nachdem eine Integration von 4G-Technologie in das für Juni erwartete iPhone 5 laut mehreren Berichten äußerst unwahrscheinlich ist, interpretierte man das beim BoyGeniusReport als Hinweis auf ein 4G-fähiges iPhone 6.
Ein Ausrutscher von AT&T? Jain.
Ein Sprecher erklärte am nächsten Tag, dass AT&T kein 4G iPhone oder ähnliches bestätigt habe, sondern dass in der Präsentation LTE (echtes 4G) und die bestehende HSPA Technologie (eine Weiterentwicklung von UMTS, also sozusagen 3,5G) als “4G” zusammengefasst wurden.
Man weiß also im Grunde, was das iPhone 5 oder gar 6 angeht, genauso viel wie vor der AT&T Keynote.
Ein unglaublicher Erfolg für die Tagesschau-App. “Bis Freitagvormittag vergangener Woche haben 740.000 Nutzer das kostenlose Angebot auf ihrem Gerät gespeichert”, sagte Tagesschau-Chefredakteur Kai Gniffke dem Spiegel. Das sei “erfreulich”, besonders, da viele Nutzer schrieben, dass sie für ein solches Angebot gern Rundfunkgebühren zahlten.
Die App war nach langem Hin und Her kurz vor Weihnachten in den AppStore gekommen. Die deutschen Verleger hatten viel Lärm gegen eine gebührenfinanzierte Nachrichten-App gemacht.
